FleetCor, the world’s leading independent fleet card provider with more than 2.5 million cards and 530,000 commercial accounts, needed a highly available, high-performance backbone to ensure customers could authorize, process, bill, and settle transactions from three new globally dispersed data centers. To support a private-cloud, virtualized environment and future 10 GbE demands, FleetCor selected Extreme Networks’ ExtremeRouting MLXe core routers and related application delivery switches.

Extreme Networks implemented the ExtremeRouting MLXe as the core backbone (with Multi‑Chassis Trunking, IPv6 support and very high port density) and added application delivery switches to accelerate and load‑balance critical card‑processing traffic. The deployment delivered private‑cloud and 10 GbE readiness, exceeded SLAs with enterprise uptime averaging 99.95%, eliminated thousands of networking cables, reduced switching infrastructure and hardware costs, and lowered power and cooling needs, backed by a five‑year support plan from Extreme Networks.
