A Extreme Networks Case Study

Preview of the Fastcom Case Study

Fastcom Deploys Extreme Fabric to Power Business Growth and Deliver Differentiated Services

Fastcom, a New Zealand managed services provider operating an MPLS network across NZ and Australia, needed to simplify and automate its complex Layer 2 switching to support rapid customer growth and more efficient service delivery. To replace its legacy Cisco and Juniper environment and enable zero-touch provisioning, Fastcom engaged Extreme Networks and deployed Extreme Fabric Connect along with ExtremeSwitching X870 and VSP 7200 Series hardware.

Extreme Networks’ Fabric Connect provided automated shortest-path routing, near zero-touch management and elimination of scheduled downtime, allowing Fastcom to cut customer onboarding from three–four weeks to just days and complete a nine-month core migration. The solution enabled Fastcom to support a 20% year‑on‑year growth target and expand services without increasing network management headcount, delivering faster time-to-market and a rapid ROI.
