Family-Owned Resort and RV Park Chooses Extreme for Ease of Deployment and Network Management

Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort is a family‑owned casino, hotel and RV park in California that relies heavily on Wi‑Fi for guest services and mission‑critical gaming operations. Facing a legacy controller‑based WLAN that created a single point of failure, limited AP choices and caused roaming and capacity issues, Jackson Rancheria chose Extreme Networks — deploying ExtremeWireless access points and ExtremeCloud™ IQ to replace the controller bottleneck and support modern 802.11 capabilities.

Extreme Networks implemented a staged, cloud‑managed rollout (AP1130s for the RV park, AP230s for hotel/remote B&Bs and a dense dual‑5GHz design in the casino) allowing remote management and local authentication. The deployment covers a 100‑space RV park with four outdoor APs, 22 APs for hotel rooms plus six for the conference/concert spaces, and supports ~1,400 client devices alongside 1,700 slot machines; results include seamless gaming‑to‑support communications, increased network visibility, simplified management without onsite staff, and lower ongoing licensing costs thanks to Extreme Networks’ architecture.
