Faction Goes to the Cloud and Rises above the Competition

Faction, a Denver-based multi-cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provider, needed a secure, high-performance, and highly virtualized network to deliver configurable private, hybrid, and multi-cloud services across seven US and European regions. To meet these requirements Faction selected Extreme Networks, deploying ExtremeSwitching VDX 6740 and VDX 6940 switches along with Extreme MLXe Series and NetIron CER 2000 Series routers and Extreme VCS fabric technology.

Extreme Networks’ solution consolidated core switching and routing, introduced VCS fabric and VM-level virtual routing/firewalling, and simplified cabling and management. As a result, Faction reduced cabling to two 10 GbE links, cut about $20,000 in annual infrastructure costs, achieved ROI in 11 months, and now offers roughly 10× the bandwidth at one‑third the cost while scaling private, public, and hybrid cloud services.
