A Extreme Networks Case Study
Sun Moon University rapidly shifted to a blended learning model during the COVID‑19 pandemic and needed expanded, reliable Wi‑Fi to support classrooms, labs, public and outdoor spaces across its Asan and Cheonan campuses without radio shadows. The university engaged Extreme Networks and deployed ExtremeCloud IQ together with ExtremeWireless and ExtremeSwitching to add cloud‑based Wi‑Fi 6 and centralized network management.
Extreme Networks implemented a centrally managed Wi‑Fi 6 network using ExtremeCloud IQ, ExtremeWireless and ExtremeSwitching, enabling unified operation of both campuses from a central hub, faster and more secure multi‑device support, mitigation of radio‑shadow areas, and migration of academic/administrative systems from Unix to Linux/Windows. The rollout accelerated smart‑campus capabilities (including mobile student IDs), improved operational efficiency and student experience, and will expand with over 300 additional AP units planned.
