Extreme Networks Purview Solution Cuts Network Management Time By 40 Hours Per Week

Stonington Public Schools, serving about 3,000 users across six schools and seven buildings, faced poor wireless performance, limited visibility, and a time‑consuming manual onboarding process with just two IT staff. To support BYOD, VDI and seamless roaming, they selected Extreme Networks—deploying IdentiFi Wireless and Purview (along with S‑Series, B‑Series and 7100‑Series switches) to replace outdated Apple and HP wireless solutions and centrally manage the network.

Extreme Networks implemented a unified wired/wireless infrastructure with IdentiFi and Purview application analytics, giving the district single‑pane visibility, faster troubleshooting and seamless roaming. The deployment delivered a reliable, high‑performance network, reduced administration and troubleshooting time by about 40 man‑hours per week, and produced significant cost savings (including eliminating over $100,000 in legacy maintenance), improving user satisfaction and supporting future BYOD and testing needs.
