Extreme Networks Provides Reliable Wireless for Google Chromebooks at Kimberly Area School District

Kimberly Area School District, a nine-school district serving about 4,900 students in the Fox Cities, sought to expand a Google Chromebook program (1:1 in grades 5–8 plus carts for K–4 and supplemental devices at the high school) but needed reliable, scalable wireless and network management to support classroom collaboration and online testing. The district selected Extreme Networks to provide the wireless infrastructure and network platform, including IdentiFi wireless APs & controllers, C‑Series & K‑Series switches, OneFabric Control Center, NetSight and NAC.

Extreme Networks deployed a managed wireless and switching solution that delivers consistent Wi‑Fi across campuses, simplifies device provisioning and enables group policies for app distribution and Smarter Balanced online testing. As a result, Chromebooks are integrated into everyday instruction—students collaborate more, teachers use live polling, IT can prep devices in 5–10 minutes and push updates/policies automatically—and the district is expanding the program (adding another 640 Chromebooks) with Extreme Networks’ support and proven reliability.
