A Extreme Networks Case Study
Broward College, the largest higher-education institution in Broward County with 11 campuses serving about 70,000 students, faculty and staff, faced an aging Cisco network that caused frequent connectivity failures and slow, unreliable multicast delivery. With a networking team of only three, the college needed anywhere/anytime access for VoIP, wireless, video and online classes plus a single-pane management view—so Broward issued an RFP and selected Extreme Networks (OneFabric/OneView and NetSight-based solutions).
Extreme Networks deployed its OneFabric solution—S-Series core and C-Series stackable switches, NetSight/OneView management, and IdentiFi wireless—to deliver a high-performance, stable network across all campuses. The Extreme Networks implementation eliminated multicast problems, gave the small IT staff global visibility and control, cut administrative troubleshooting and configuration time from minutes to seconds, and reliably supports the college’s 70,000 users while reducing operational overhead.
