A Extreme Networks Case Study
Pachuca Polytechnic University, a higher-education institution serving about 600 users across two buildings with a four-person networking IT staff, faced slow, inconsistent wired and wireless service that limited student and faculty access and future growth. After a thorough evaluation, the university selected Extreme Networks to deliver a robust, centrally managed solution using a B5G124-24P2 switch, two WS-V2110-8 virtual wireless controllers and six WS-AP3705i access points.
Extreme Networks, working with partner Fandis, implemented a data center in about a week and a half and completed network optimization in two days, deploying the switch, virtual controllers and access points to provide high-availability wired and wireless coverage for the rectory and library. The deployment produced faster, more available network service with excellent connectivity for 600 users, improved security and centralized user management, and established a scalable foundation to expand wired backbone capacity and support up to 6,000 wireless users over time.
