A Extreme Networks Case Study
CROC, a leading Russian system integrator and cloud/hosting provider, faced rapidly growing demand for IaaS and SaaS and needed to consolidate multiple Moscow sites into a single high‑performance cloud, shorten virtual machine migration times, and ensure full redundancy of communication channels. To meet these requirements CROC selected Extreme Networks and deployed Extreme Networks Summit X460 access switches and Summit X670 core switches as the foundation of the new network.
Extreme Networks implemented a flat, two‑tier design using Top‑of‑Rack Summit X460s, Summit X670 cores, M‑LAG aggregation, and Virtual Router features to enable transparent multi‑switch link aggregation, load balancing and isolated management networks. The Extreme Networks solution delivered a next‑generation cloud—achieving a ten‑fold increase in cloud data transfer speeds, faster VM migrations and effective distribution of resources between sites, with aggregated core links scaled (initially 80 Gbit/s and later expanded to 160 Gbit/s between data centers) to ensure redundancy and high availability.
