A Extreme Networks Case Study
Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC), Canada’s largest convention complex with over 600,000 sq. ft. and venues like the 1,232-seat John Bassett Theatre, needed a purpose-built, high-density Wi‑Fi solution to support as many as 10,000 users during major events while giving a small networking team (eight staff) visibility and control over traffic. After an RFP process, MTCC selected Extreme Networks and its portfolio—including ExtremeWireless, ExtremeSwitching, ExtremeControl, ExtremeManagement and ExtremeAnalytics—to meet reliability, scalability and management requirements.
Extreme Networks deployed a campus-wide solution with about 250 access points and centralized management and analytics, enabling real-time visibility, faster troubleshooting, bandwidth allocation and data-driven planning. The vendor’s tools reduced network complexity, freed staff time for strategic initiatives, improved attendee wireless experience, and delivered measurable benefits such as clear bottleneck identification, better resource allocation and cost savings while supporting peak loads of up to 10,000 users.
