A Extreme Networks Case Study
OEPM, the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office, needed to modernize its network to support next‑generation data center technologies, better integrate with virtualized servers, improve performance and reliability for about 650 users (1,500 devices across 2 locations), and gain greater visibility and control to streamline IT and handle growing mobile/BYOD demands. To address this, OEPM engaged Extreme Networks and specified solutions including S‑Series modular switches (S4 & S8), B‑Series stacked switches, IdentiFi APs and C25 wireless controllers, and the NetSight Network Management Solution (NMS‑250).
Extreme Networks deployed a complete wired and wireless refresh — S‑Series core switches in chassis‑bonding, Secure Stack B‑Series at the access layer, IdentiFi WS‑AP3705i APs with C25 controllers, and NetSight single‑pane management — providing support for virtualized servers, high‑performance Wi‑Fi (≈50 APs, ~1,000 connection points) and unified policy control. The result: OEPM now reliably serves 650 users/1,500 devices across two buildings with fewer network issues, improved wired and wireless user experience, readiness for BYOD, and reduced device footprint and operational overhead.
