A Extreme Networks Case Study
Zacatecas Institute of Technology, a higher education institution serving about 350 users across five buildings, faced recurring network crashes, poor bandwidth distribution and weak access control that disrupted academic and administrative operations. To address these issues the school engaged Extreme Networks, deploying hardware and software including G-Series and S-Series switches and NetSight management to modernize the campus LAN and wireless profiles.
Extreme Networks implemented a core switch-based design, VLANs, role-based access policies and NetSight monitoring (with specific G3 core hardware and NetSight licenses), completing the rollout in about a week with the institute’s 10 IT staff. The result was measurable: improved Internet access and Wi‑Fi performance without data loss, stronger network security and information access control, better bandwidth distribution across users and buildings, and reliable uploading/downloading for administrative tasks — all credited to Extreme Networks’ solution.
