EDIFICOM, a Swiss IT integrator serving healthcare, education, hospitality and SMB customers, needed a way to deliver secure, scalable cloud and wireless services for clients with limited on‑premise IT resources. Their customers required higher throughput, denser wireless coverage and scalable data center services without the cost and risk of maintaining on‑site infrastructure, so EDIFICOM partnered with Extreme Networks and its OneFabric Data Center solution to address these diverse requirements.

EDIFICOM built a fully virtualized managed data center using Extreme Networks technologies — S-Series core switches, 7100 top‑of‑rack, B-Series at the edge, IdentiFi wireless and the OneFabric Control Center/Data Center Manager — integrated with VMware. The Extreme Networks platform simplified operations and monitoring, improved visibility and control, and made scaling effortless (infrastructure is 10Gbps‑ready and supports 40Gbps links), enabling reduced OPEX and significantly lower customer CAPEX. As a result EDIFICOM now offers managed firewalls, wireless-as-a-service, video surveillance and server virtualization, serves 200+ customers, and is expanding into new sectors such as finance and advanced healthcare solutions.
