Case Study: Ashdod Port achieves faster ship turnarounds and enhanced security with Extreme Networks

A Extreme Networks Case Study

Preview of the Ashdod Port Case Study

Critical National Facility Streamlines Operations with Fabric

Ashdod Port, Israel’s largest seaport handling more than 1.5 million containers a year, needed a comprehensive network overhaul to reduce ship and truck wait times, improve operational efficiency, strengthen cyber security, and support new technologies — all without disrupting daily operations. To meet these challenges, Ashdod Port partnered with Extreme Networks and deployed Extreme Fabric Connect (along with Extreme Switching and Extreme Wireless) as the core of the modernization.

Extreme Networks built a single, unified campus network hosting all port networks and databases, with centralized management, hyper-segmentation for enhanced security, three new data centers and 110 remote clusters. The deployment was completed seamlessly in five months with no operational pause; performance increased up to 20x versus the previous network, resulting in faster task execution, quicker truck releases and reduced ship time in port, while minimizing downtime and improving cyber protection.
