A Extreme Networks Case Study
Utica College, a private residential institution serving roughly 4,000 users across a 128‑acre main campus and three remote locations, needed to modernize and consolidate its IT to support e‑learning, cloud migration, and scalable wired and wireless access while competing on a limited budget. To meet those needs Utica engaged Extreme Networks and deployed ExtremeWireless (C5210, AP3825i), ExtremeSwitching (S‑Series, X460‑G2, X670), ExtremeControl (Control Center, Identity and Access Control) and ExtremeAnalytics (Application Analytics).
Extreme Networks implemented an integrated wired/wireless infrastructure and centralized management that brought more than 50 applications and multiple sites onto a single, easy‑to‑maintain network with full traffic visibility. The deployment cut complexity and operating costs—enabling one network engineer to manage 4,000 users (versus the customary 1:200 ratio), saving close to $1 million compared with competitors and completing the project in less than half the expected time—delivering measurable improvements in uptime, efficiency and total cost of ownership.
