City of Seguin Upgrades Network Enterprise to Meet the Demands of Rapid Growth

The City of Seguin, a Texas municipality of about 30,000 residents and roughly 450 employees, needed to replace a flat, outdated network that could not scale for rapid growth and dozens of new subdivisions. The city selected Extreme Networks and deployed Extreme Management Center, ExtremeSwitching, plus Extreme professional services and training to modernize its infrastructure and move from a tangled legacy architecture to an enterprise‑grade solution.

Extreme Networks rebuilt Seguin’s network with Layer 3 routing, connected all three data centers, added redundant ISPs and upgraded perimeter security, while leveraging city fiber to extend availability. The deployment delivered 100% network uptime since the June 2019 launch, high availability and redundancy across facilities, enabled a new document‑management platform and enterprise video/trail‑camera system (implemented in‑house at a 70% cost savings), and improved operational management and ROI through Extreme Management Center.
