A Extreme Networks Case Study
City of Borås, a Swedish municipality serving over 113,000 citizens, needed to replace an expensive, complex legacy network to support critical welfare services, education, healthcare and new pandemic-driven digital demands. The city required secure, resilient public Wi‑Fi, higher capacity and speed, and simpler management with better visibility; to meet these needs it partnered with Extreme Networks, deploying ExtremeCloud IQ along with Extreme Wireless and Extreme Switching.
Extreme Networks (with partner NetNordic) implemented a cloud‑based network and roughly 2,000 access points to deliver city‑wide secure public Wi‑Fi, increased network capacity and faster data speeds, and uninterrupted connectivity for education, healthcare and business. The Extreme Networks solution centralized management and analytics, reduced licensing complexity and operational overhead, gave IT full oversight of performance, lowered costs, and enabled new Wi‑Fi‑powered services that helped establish City of Borås as a modern smart city.
