Chesterfield County Public Schools Chooses Extreme WLAN

Chesterfield County Public Schools, a Virginia K‑12 district of 62 schools serving about 59,000 students, needed a centrally managed, reliable WLAN to handle a surge in BYOD and a statewide move to online testing. After a vendor bake-off they chose Extreme Networks and its Extreme WLAN portfolio (ExtremeWireless, ExtremeSwitching and ExtremeCloud IQ) for a controller‑less, scalable solution that met their ease‑of‑management and edge‑intelligence requirements.

Extreme Networks deployed an enterprise WLAN—initially more than 2,000 APs (AP121, AP350, AP170) managed via ExtremeCloud IQ, with a density upgrade planned to exceed 4,000 APs.
