A Extreme Networks Case Study
Catawba College, a private regional college of more than 1,300 students in Salisbury, NC, faced unreliable wired and wireless connectivity, limited IT resources (2 FTEs), multi‑vendor complexity, and security gaps that disrupted classrooms and services. To address these challenges the college engaged Extreme Networks and deployed an integrated solution using ExtremeSwitching, ExtremeWireless, ExtremeManagement, ExtremeControl and Extreme Camera APs.
Extreme Networks delivered an end‑to‑end network refresh—installing 350 access points across 44 buildings, Camera APs, and centralized management—giving Catawba unified visibility, stronger edge security, and simplified operations. The rollout increased wireless bandwidth and reliability, improved virus containment and troubleshooting, enabled campus surveillance, reduced cabling and management costs, and allowed the IT team to support ~5,500 devices more efficiently.
