Cardioinfantil Foundation Improves Its Network Infrastructure with Extreme Networks

Cardioinfantil Foundation Cardiology Institute of Colombia is a private, non‑profit medical complex in Bogotá that provides highly specialized care and serves roughly 1,800 employees, 3,000 daily users and about 200 connected medical devices across nine buildings. Facing a mixed‑vendor, capacity‑limited network that caused frequent wireless drops and constrained bandwidth, the institute sought a partner to simplify network management and improve performance, reliability and security—selecting Extreme Networks and its ExtremeSwitching and ExtremeWireless solutions.

Extreme Networks implemented wired switches and wireless access points across the campus (with local support from partner TSP), refreshed IP telephony and consolidated network management to deliver higher uptime, simplified device monitoring and stronger traffic visibility and control. As a result, Extreme Networks eliminated regular wireless disconnections, radically increased administrative efficiency and scalability, supported critical systems (about 800 daily central‑system users) and delivered measurable cost savings while enabling the institute to expand services reliably.
