Building a Digital-first Student Experience at Oral Roberts

Oral Roberts University, a fast-growing liberal arts university in Tulsa with nearly 5,000 students, needed to modernize a spotty Wi‑Fi and network infrastructure to support a global, technology-driven vision — including AR/VR, smart classrooms, a multimedia production studio and enhanced athletics fan experiences. To accomplish this, ORU partnered with Extreme Networks, deploying solutions such as ExtremeSwitching, ExtremeWireless, ExtremeAnalytics and ExtremeCloud IQ.

Extreme Networks delivered a campus-wide, reliable network with full visibility and data-driven management, enabling consistent Wi‑Fi, reduced IT troubleshooting, and support for advanced initiatives like AR/VR classrooms and telepresence; the AR/VR environment can deliver more than 7,000 live, interactive courses. As a result, ORU achieved improved connectivity and management, expanded remote and global learning capabilities, enhanced athletic and personalized student experiences, and robust support for research systems like the Titan supercomputer.
