Bringing Digital-First Learning Into the Classroom With Enhanced Wireless

Berkshire Arts and Technology Charter Public School (BART), a public charter serving nearly 400 students in grades 6–12, needed a wireless infrastructure upgrade to support its 1:1 digital learning program and a surge of modern devices after the pandemic. Existing access points suffered chipset compatibility and capacity issues that increased help‑desk tickets and disrupted teachers, so BART partnered with Extreme Networks and evaluated ExtremeWireless and ExtremeCloud IQ to address management, performance, and compatibility gaps.

Extreme Networks replaced the school’s wireless infrastructure with 36 Wi‑Fi 6 access points and deployed ExtremeCloud IQ, completing the rollout in under a week. The upgrade delivered higher throughput and connectivity, a dramatic drop in help‑desk tickets, better network performance and capacity data, reliable support for state testing and live‑streamed events, and freed IT staff to focus on strategic initiatives that enhance the classroom experience.
