A Extreme Networks Case Study
Black Oak Casino Resort, a 164,000-square-foot gaming property owned by the Tuolumne Band of Me‑Wuk Indians in Tuolumne, CA, needed a stable backbone to support more than 700 surveillance cameras and meet strict state and federal compliance requirements. After repeated failures and weekly switch crashes with their prior equipment, the resort turned to Extreme Networks for a reliable video-surveillance network upgrade.
Extreme Networks deployed a redesigned “spider web” architecture using two Virtual Services Platform (VSP) 7024s and 28 Ethernet Routing Switches (ERS) 4850s (Ethernet Routing Switches 4000 Series), which immediately stabilized operations. The Extreme Networks solution doubled surveillance viewing capability, increased uptime dramatically (stability rose from roughly 50% to near 100%), improved camera responsiveness, simplified troubleshooting, and now supports expansion plans across the property—delivering measurable compliance, security, and peace of mind.
