Barnsley College Launches UK’s First Extreme Academy for Network Training

Barnsley College, a UK further education provider rated "Outstanding" by OFSTED and serving thousands of students across multiple campuses, needed a dedicated, real-world networking environment and up-to-date infrastructure so learners could practice industry scenarios and gain competitive accreditations. To address this gap the college partnered with Extreme Networks to bring Extreme Academy training and lab equipment on site.

Extreme Networks delivered Extreme Academy coursework and supporting network infrastructure, giving students hands-on training in network design, cybersecurity, automation and cloud management and pathways to associate‑level certifications. The result is an immersive, scalable curriculum with industry‑standard equipment, stronger student readiness for the job market, and formal accreditation opportunities enabled by Extreme Networks.
