A Extreme Networks Case Study
The American School of Dubai, a K–12 international school serving about 2,100 students and staff across a 1 million sq. ft. campus, faced an outdated, hard-to-manage network that lacked integration between wireless and NAC tools, limited visibility and control, and struggled to automate BYOD for more than 3,000 devices with just two networking staff. To address this, the school engaged Extreme Networks and selected a suite of Extreme products including ExtremeSwitching (G2 platform), ExtremeWireless, ExtremeControl and Extreme Management Center.
Extreme Networks rebuilt ASD’s LAN and WLAN—standardizing on G2 switches, installing more than 270 802.11ac Wave2 access points, and deploying ExtremeControl and Extreme Management Center to provide a single pane of glass and device-by-device policy control (with Jamf Pro integration). The result was a faster, more reliable and secure campus network, unified management that delivered OPEX savings for the two-person IT team, automated BYOD and greater visibility and scalability to support 2,100 users and 3,000+ devices; Extreme Networks’ solution future-proofed the school’s infrastructure.
