Advanced Technology at University Hospital San Ángel Inn Improves Patient Care

University Hospital San Ángel Inn needed to modernize a struggling network that caused poor application performance, difficult management and spotty wireless coverage while protecting patient data and avoiding operational disruption. After evaluating options the hospital selected Extreme Networks, with channel partner Fandis, and chose Extreme Networks products including S-Series modular switches, B-Series stackable switches, IdentiFi wireless access points and NetSight (with Automated Security Manager) to meet its requirements.

Extreme Networks implemented a complete wired and wireless architecture (S-Series core, B-Series access, 3705i IdentiFi APs) and NetSight-based management with role‑based, port‑level security. The solution segmented broadcast domains, optimized bandwidth and delivered QoS to the user level, improving EMR access and overall application performance; roughly 200 users and the hospital’s 10‑person IT team now benefit from stronger security, full facility coverage and faster access to critical resources.
