Tarrant Regional Water District Mitigates Risk and Enhances Cybersecurity with ExtraHop

Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) supplies water to more than 2.1 million people across 11 North Texas counties and manages regional flood-control infrastructure. When Network Architect Adam Boldin arrived, the organization had limited network visibility, no dedicated security team, and an executive mandate to strengthen IT security and baseline its complex, homegrown monitoring applications.

TRWD deployed ExtraHop Reveal(x) with professional services to migrate dashboards and establish continuous packet monitoring (about 10 Gbps ingest with 60-day PCAP retention) and dependency mapping for critical systems. The solution simplified audits and EPA compliance reporting, accelerated troubleshooting and developer collaboration, and exposed and helped remediate network vulnerabilities—enabling fast forensic searches (e.g., after SUNBURST) and improving overall incident detection and response.
