VERBUND, Austria’s largest electricity producer and a major hydro power operator, needed to centralize and strengthen cybersecurity for its critical infrastructure. After a 2018 strategic review, the company set out to build a unified Security Operations Center (SOC) and evaluated network detection and response (NDR) platforms to gain real-time visibility—including into encrypted traffic—and to integrate threat detection with existing ITSM and incident workflows.

VERBUND selected ExtraHop Reveal(x) following an eight-week proof of concept; Reveal(x) delivered rapid, drill-down visibility (including SSL/TLS 1.3 traffic) and seamless integration with its SIEM and Jira workflows.
