Case Study: Sleep Innovations achieves seamless OEM and retail EDI integration with EXTOL EDI Integrator

A Extol Case Study

Preview of the Sleep Innovations Case Study

Sleep Innovations’ Dream Comes True, Connecting Growing OEM and Retail Business Using Single EDI System

Sleep Innovations, a multimillion-dollar manufacturer of foam bedding (brands include Novaform, Personal Expressions and Comfort Plus) and private-label products for major retailers, grew rapidly after adding eight plants to bring total locations to 11. The company moved to Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne but discovered its legacy EDI system couldn’t handle the complex, customer-specific transactions required for roughly 90% of its business, creating inefficiencies and integration gaps across OEM and retail channels.

Sleep Innovations implemented EXTOL EDI Integrator to automate and simplify EDI and B2B processes without custom coding. EXTOL converts inbound POs to EnterpriseOne orders, sends acknowledgements, routes line items to the correct plants, and generates ASNs and consolidated invoices back to customers, working with multiple ERP modules in real time. The result: streamlined order-to-ship processing, support for complex multi-plant fulfillment, and an ongoing rollout (three plants integrated so far, full deployment planned) that improved customer compliance and operational efficiency.
