Preview of the The Apparel Group Case Study

Adopt a Scalable Business Model

The Apparel Group Ltd., founded in 1988 in partnership with TAL Apparel, is a leading apparel wholesaler and retailer with 30+ department stores and MMRs, 1,000+ specialty retailers, and 15+ e-commerce partners. As the business model evolved, the company needed to add more customer value, be more accessible to new partners, and streamline operational processes — prompting a shift in the IT environment toward a single-sourced, multi-platform integration approach to save time, boost efficiency, and improve visibility.

The company deployed EXTOL Business Integrator (EBI) as a central integration hub to accept any file type, automate data transactions, and provide data analysis and order visibility. EBI handled multiple ERPs, WMSs and platforms, becoming the company’s any-to-any integration hub; the result was faster processing, greater operational efficiency and improved visibility across trading partners, as noted by VP Jerry Huang.
