The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC), a global legal association representing 45,000 members in 85 countries, faced growing risk from third-party access to sensitive data and rising data-privacy regulations. With many organizations lacking a vendor inventory and struggling to answer who touches their data, what data is involved, and how vendors protect it, ACC’s Chief Legal Officer Susanna McDonald needed a holistic way to see and manage the “black box” of vendor risk.

ACC implemented Exterro’s Vendor Risk Service (VRS) to inventory vendors, map data flows, and align vendor controls with regulatory requirements. VRS dashboards deliver real-time visibility and analytics, and integrating the tool into RFP and contract workflows overhauled processes, improved efficiency, streamlined data mapping, and made vendor risk transparent—so much so that ACC names VRS its official vendor management software.
