A Exterity Case Study
University College London (UCL), a large multi-disciplinary university with multiple London campuses and language departments spread across five buildings, needed a way to deliver live TV and video from around the world to support language and cultural learning. UCL wanted a scalable, centrally controlled solution that could be deployed without major rewiring or disruption to students and staff.
Exterity provided an IPTV system that used UCL’s existing IP network to stream live and recorded TV to the language departments, enabling flexible deployment across buildings. The result was access for students studying 18 languages through 60 PCs, with a virtually unlimited archive of content, easy expansion for additional channels and endpoints, and a future-proof, cost-effective platform for the university.
