Case Study: Thomson Reuters delivers live news to desktops with Exterity IPTV

A Exterity Case Study

Preview of the Thomson Reuters Case Study

Thomson Reuters Employees Keep in Touch With the World From Their Desktops With Exterity IPTV Solution

Thomson Reuters, the global news and information company, needed a better way to deliver live TV and recorded video to more than 2,500 employees at its London headquarters. Its aging coaxial TV distribution system was difficult to scale, expensive to expand, and did not integrate well with desktop PCs or the company’s existing IP network.

Exterity provided an end-to-end IPTV solution using Thomson Reuters’ existing IP infrastructure, including AvediaStream TVgateways and Encoders, AvediaPlayer Receivers, and PC clients. The system streams broadcast-quality TV and video to over 300 displays and 2,500 screens and desktops with no additional cabling, lower operational costs, easier management, and a future-proof platform that can scale for new users, channels, and facilities without service disruption.
