Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa Johannesburg Offers Next Generation Guest Experiences With Exterity IP Vid
Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa in Johannesburg wanted to upgrade its guest entertainment experience while improving reliability and ease of management across suites, villas, conference spaces, and spa areas. Working with Exterity and integrator Panavision Evolve, the hotel aimed to enhance satellite TV quality, add video-on-demand services like Netflix, and give staff centralized and room-by-room control over AV functions.
Exterity delivered a modular IPTV solution integrated with Crestron in-room controls, along with a Saxon-branded portal, redundant TV gateways, and support for UHD-quality viewing across 68 hospitality TVs and public-area displays. The project was completed in six weeks with no disruption to guests, significantly improved picture quality, and has remained highly reliable for seven years, with only two minor issues resolved by phone.
