A Exterity Case Study
The Parliament of Victoria needed a modern IPTV and digital signage solution for its new two-storey annexe, which would add office space for 102 Members of Parliament while integrating with the historic Parliament House precinct. After evaluating multiple options, the Parliament selected Exterity for an end-to-end system that could provide reliable access to live video from the chambers and committee rooms, along with free-to-air news channels and flexible future expansion.
Exterity implemented an IPTV deployment across the new annexe and selected areas of the original buildings, using AvediaPlayer r9300 IPTV media players, a shared Gigabit Ethernet network, Dante audio integration, and dual headends for broadcast and internal parliamentary content. The system covered 142 TV screens and later expanded into press rooms and media recording, delivering a solution that was completed on time and within budget, improved usability for MPs and staff, and gave Parliament a scalable platform for delivering, recording, managing, and scheduling network-based content.
