Cannes Film Festival, the organizers behind Cannes Festival TV, needed a better way to distribute daily festival footage to more than 3,500 attending media professionals. Their traditional setup relied on large open-air screens in a noisy press hall, making it difficult for journalists to access content efficiently. Exterity provided the IPTV and digital signage technology used to modernize content delivery.
Exterity implemented its AvediaStream IPTV solution with HD encoders and AvediaPlayer receivers to stream live and on-demand footage to 30 press workstations and communal screens across the press center. The new IP-based system also shared the network with VoIP, improving workflow and communication for reporters. As a result, Cannes Film Festival’s media teams gained easier, more user-friendly access to hundreds of hours of content, helping them work more productively and efficiently on-site.
