New England Institute of Technology Delivers Transformative IPTV and Digital Signage With Exterity

New England Institute of Technology, a private technical university in Rhode Island, needed a more flexible IPTV and digital signage platform for its first-ever 400-bed residence hall and wider campus. Its legacy system was difficult to manage, limited to just two channels, and couldn’t easily support TV and signage across residence halls and common areas.

The institute chose Exterity’s IP video and digital signage solution, including AvediaServer, Media Players, AvediaStream Encoders, Transcoders, and Origin Servers, with installation support from ATR Treehouse. Exterity enabled a 22-channel TV lineup, 6 local terrestrial channels, and signage across 70 fixed displays in about two weeks, while also making it easy to update schedules, support mobile viewing on campus devices, and expand toward future uses like campus TV and televised lectures.
