Home Office Scientific Development Branch (HOSDB), part of the UK Home Office, needed a more flexible and centrally managed way to communicate with staff across its sites in Sandridge, St Albans and Horsham. Existing methods like email, notice boards, meetings and the intranet were not enough for distributing TV and internal messages, and traditional TV distribution would not work well across the large, dispersed campus.

Exterity provided a network IPTV solution that used HOSDB’s existing fibre-based IP network to stream live TV and message content to meeting areas, reception screens and other endpoints. The system eliminated the need for costly rewiring, enabled broadcast-quality video across the site, and let HOSDB add unlimited new display points as needed, improving internal communications and scalability without another infrastructure project.
