Exterity IP Video Facilitates Decision-making at Bank of China

Bank of China (Hong Kong), the second-largest commercial banking group on the peninsula, needed a better way to give staff real-time access to financial news and market information so they could assess transaction risks and stay ahead of fast-changing global conditions. To support this, the bank turned to Exterity for an IP video and digital signage solution during a headquarters refurbishment.

Exterity implemented a robust IP video system that streamed HD financial channels such as CNN, BBC World News, Bloomberg and CNBC to multiple screens across the building and to bankers’ PCs, using HD encoders, receiver set-top boxes and AvediaServer for centralized control. The solution integrated with the bank’s existing IT network without additional cabling, and is now used daily to deliver relevant information to desks and public areas, including a video wall, helping staff make faster, better-informed decisions in real time.
