Case Study: Eaton delivers onboard TV and film entertainment with Exterity IP Video

A Exterity Case Study

Preview of the Eaton Case Study

Exterity IP Video Enables Eaton to Deliver TV and Film Entertainment to Crew in the Middle of the Sea

Eaton, a global technology leader in power management for marine and offshore vessels, needed an IP video system to keep crew entertained during long periods at sea. The company wanted to deliver multiple satellite TV channels and integrate with existing ship systems such as radio, satellite communications, navigation, and CCTV, while also supporting safety-related content.

Exterity provided an IP video and digital signage solution that streams TV, films, foreign language channels, sports, and movies to communal areas and crew cabins, while also supporting alarm and safety content as a separate channel. The result was a more efficient, end-to-end system that reduced third-party integrations and cabling, used existing internet/IP infrastructure, and delivered reliable live TV even in remote ocean locations, helping Eaton keep crews both safe and happy.
