Exterity IP Video and Digital Signage Helped Penn-trafford School District Upgrade Its Video Delivery for the Classroom and Across Campus

Penn-Trafford School District, serving around 4,000 students across five elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school, needed to replace an aging cable-based TV system that could better support live TV, on-demand video, and digital signage as part of its renovation program. The district wanted a flexible solution for classroom learning and campus-wide communication, and turned to Exterity for IP video and digital signage technology.

Exterity implemented an integrated IP video and digital signage system using AvediaStream Encoders, TVgateways, AvediaServer, and ArtioSign to distribute live and pre-recorded content, educational TV channels, and signage to 80 projectors and 20 displays across campus. The result was HD video and signage available on any screen, easier classroom access to VoD content, and stronger communication for events like student awareness videos and guest speaker broadcasts, with the district now planning to expand the system and add emergency messaging capabilities.
