Exterity Helps Parkland School District Offer Next Generation Education to Its K-12 Students

Parkland School District, a K-12 district serving nearly 10,000 students across 11 schools in Pennsylvania, wanted to replace its outdated analog cabling and linked TV system with a more modern, high-quality AV platform that could better support today’s tech-savvy students and help attract families in a competitive education market. The district turned to Exterity for an IP video solution, including classroom-based delivery of educational TV and video content.

Exterity deployed a large-scale IP video system featuring AvediaPlayer receivers in every classroom, AvediaStream encoders to digitize educational DVDs into a VoD library, ArtioPortal Desktop for school-specific viewing interfaces, and AvediaServer to manage network video activity. The result was reliable delivery of educational TV and video to classrooms via projectors, giving teachers and students access to a broad range of channels and supporting richer, more flexible learning without compromising performance.
