Exponential-e worked with Royal Holloway, University of London as the university responded to COVID-19 and its goal of becoming a fully online university for teaching, learning and research. The challenge was to provide scalable, cost-effective, high-performance remote collaboration for more than 10,000 staff, students and alumni, while consolidating separate Microsoft tenancies, creating a non-production environment, and delivering everything within an eight-week window.

Exponential-e delivered a managed Microsoft 365 and identity transformation, merging tenancies, migrating Office 365 accounts, and implementing a modern hybrid authentication setup with Azure Active Directory, ADFS, AD, MFA and SSO. Using Cloud Commander tooling, Exponential-e migrated over 10,000 Office 365 user tenancies in 24 days, enabling secure communication, improved collaboration, a simplified single-domain environment, and greater scalability and cost control through the public cloud.
