Metropolitan Thames Valley upgrades Network resulting in increased capacity at lower costs

Metropolitan Thames Valley, referred to in the case study as Thames Valley Housing, needed to replace an aging network that had reached capacity and could no longer support growing demand, remote offices, and a temporary headquarters move. Exponential-e was brought in to provide a new network solution, including a fully converged nine-site wide area network using Layer 2 VPLS technology.

Exponential-e designed and deployed a flexible, cost-effective WAN connecting headquarters and eight other sites, supporting large applications such as VoIP, Civica’s Universal Housing System and Citrix remote access. The new network improved capacity, resilience and connectivity across all nine sites, reduced costs versus extending the old setup, and gave Metropolitan Thames Valley room to scale for both short- and long-term needs.
