GRIDSERVE, a pioneer in sustainable energy, needed secure, reliable connectivity to support the launch of the UK’s first Electric Forecourt at Braintree and prepare for 15 more sites across the country. The challenge was to deliver high-performance infrastructure that could be deployed on time, work alongside multiple construction and technology partners, and keep staff and visitor networks fully isolated from the charging units.

Exponential-e provided a Layer 2 VPLS private managed WAN across the site, hosted at two data centres and secured with Fortigate firewalls, along with bespoke custom switching cabinets designed to fit GRIDSERVE’s requirements and future scalability plans. Exponential-e’s consultative support and close collaboration helped the first site launch on time and to budget, creating a strong foundation for expansion and a long-term technology partnership.
