GigaPan Systems, maker of camera mounts and stitching software for gigapixel panoramic photos, needed a way to automatically distribute software license keys tied to each product’s serial number. Because customers could buy through GigaPan directly, through big-box retailers, or via resale, the company also needed validation and audit controls to prevent fraud and ensure each customer received the correct two included license keys through NetSuite.

Explore Consulting implemented an automated license key generation solution in NetSuite using custom records, scripted workflows, and an embedded Suitelet on the GigaPan website. The system now assigns, validates, and emails license keys automatically across all purchase paths, flags keys as distributed to prevent reuse, and ties each key to a serial number for auditability, eliminating manual work and reducing fraudulent distribution risk.
