Ephox, a provider of software for managing web content publication, needed a better way to handle license key generation for its NetSuite-based products. Because keys were being created in multiple external applications, customer support had to log into several systems just to answer simple requests like “what is my license key?” Explore Consulting was brought in to help streamline this process using NetSuite.

Explore Consulting built an automated NetSuite solution centered on a License Key Request record, workflow validation, and a Suitelet that sent requests to external key-generation services. The resulting license key was returned to NetSuite and stored against the customer and request, making keys easy to find in one place. As a result, Ephox no longer needed to leave NetSuite for key creation, and support teams could quickly access key details, with the solution designed to scale as new external systems are added.
