Case Study: UNSW Sydney centralizes course surveys and boosts response rates with Explorance

UNSW Sydney (The University of New South Wales) Deploys Leading-Edge Technology for Course Surveys

UNSW Sydney needed a better way to collect and use course and teaching survey data across a university of more than 50,000 students and 6,000 staff. Different faculties were using different survey methods, including paper and a custom online system, which made it hard to produce consistent data for institutional-, faculty-, and school-level analysis.

UNSW Sydney selected Blue from eXplorance, including Blue/Surveys, Bluepulse, Blue Text Analytics, and related tools, to centralize the survey process and improve reporting. With support from eXplorance, the university made its course surveys completely paper-free and increased its response rate to 42.44% in the second semester of 2016, a 22% increase over the year prior.
