University of Sharjah Achieves 90%+ Response Rates With Integrated Course Evaluations

University of Sharjah used Explorance’s Blue course evaluation and survey system to improve feedback collection while avoiding grade blocking as an incentive. The university needed a way to raise response rates across a large student population and maintain a strong culture of feedback without relying on more restrictive methods.

With Explorance’s support, University of Sharjah integrated Blue with Banner and Blackboard LMS and introduced course-by-course blocking of course materials until evaluations were completed. The approach helped the university achieve consistent response rates over 90%, eliminate the use of over 130,000 sheets of paper per cycle, and raise Senior Exit Survey response rates from 38 percent in 2013-14 to 75 percent in 2017-18.
